Drive Chart: Here's What the Titans Offense Did on Every Possession in Week 9 Against Pittsburgh Steelers

The Tennessee Titans took on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a primetime tilt on Thursday Night Football and left with a loss by a score of 20-16. The offense didn't do enough, but there were good moments for the team in a tough environment.

The Tennessee Titans lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football by a score of 20-16. The offense struggled with the pass rush of the Steelers defense and it led to inconsistent success. Here is a recap of every drive on offense for the Titans in Week 9.

Drive No. 1

  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 14 Plays, 72 yards
  • Result: 36-yard Field Goal
  • SMH Moment: Levis was sacked the final third down of the drive
  • Key Play: Derrick Henry took the direct snap and picked up a key fourth-down conversion on the ground.
  • The Skinny: The drive was aided by four big penalties on the Steelers to get into the red zone, but stalled out with an inability to run the ball and settle for three points.

Drive No. 2

  • Game Status: 1:53 remaining in the first quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 4 plays, 18 yards
  • Result: Punt
  • SMH Moment: Levis was sacked on second down and made it third and long.
  • Key Play: Levis completed a pass to DeAndre Hopkins for 29 yards on first and 19 deep in Titans' territory.
  • The Skinny: The Titans tackles simply can't block the Steelers rushers. Levis is under pressure consistently and they can't run the ball.

Drive No. 3

  • Game Status: 13:01 remaining in the second quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 11 plays, 73 yards
  • Result: Touchdown
  • Key Play: Levis made throws under pressure all down the field, but a one-yard score by Derrick Henry capped off the drive.
  • The Skinny: The Titans had multiple offensive line injuries on the drive and have multiple backups in now. Levis thrives regardless and it leads to a score for Henry.

Drive No. 4

  • Game Status: 1:16 remaining in the second quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 8 plays, 57 yards
  • Result: 36-yard Field Goal
  • Key Play: Levis hammered a seam throw home to Kyle Philips for 24 yards to get into Steeler territory and get a lead-leading field goal.
  • The Skinny: Levis was incredible on the drive and led the Titans down the field for a field goal before half.

Drive No. 5

  • Game Status: 15:00 remaining in the third quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 3 plays, 2 yards
  • Result: Punt
  • SMH Moment: On second down Levis was behind Hopkins and it feel incomplete, leading to a third and long.
  • The Skinny: Titans start with a three and out after halftime with a lack of success on first down.

Drive No. 6

  • Game Status: 5:41 remaining in the third quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 9 plays, 45 yards
  • Result: 48-yard Field Goal
  • Key Play: Levis was under major pressure, but completed a screen pass to Henry for a 23-yard gain.
  • The Skinny: Andre Dillard was injured early in the drive leaving the Titans, but came back, either way the offensive line injuries are to a ridiculous point. Levis still led the Titans down for three points.

Drive No. 7

  • Game Status: 12:25 remaining in the fourth quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 6 plays, 33 yards
  • Result: Punt
  • The Skinny: A few failed screens to Henry and Tyjae Spear doom a decent drive and the Titans have to punt and put the defense back on the field.

Drive No. 8

  • Game Status: 4:02 remaining in the fourth quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 4 plays, 6 yards
  • Result: Turnover on Downs
  • SMH Moment: Levis tried to hit Treylon Burks down the sideline on fourth down, but it fell incomplete and sadly, Burks was injured badly on the play.
  • The Skinny: The Titans had some questionable play calling on the last two plays of the drive. A run for no gain on third down and a deep pass on fourth when you need three yards was an interesting choice.

Drive No. 9

  • Game Status: 1:44 remaining in the fourth quarter
  • Quarterback: Will Levis
  • Plays/Yards: 12 plays, 66 yards
  • Result: Interception
  • SMH Moment: Levis threw an interception at the end of the game 
  • The Skinny: Levis tried to get the Titans down the field for a touchdown and almost did, but trying to make something happen at the end lead to an interception in the end zone.
