NASHVILLE - There's an old adage in the NFL that you can never have enough pass rushers, and I believe that to be true.

When it was first announced that the Titans had agreed to terms with Jacksonville pass rusher Arden Key, it became apparent that Ran Carthon also believes in that adage.

Add Key to the return of Harold Landry from his injury, along with both Denico Autry, Rashad Weaver, and a resigned Jeffrey Simmons, and the Titans pass rush seems loaded.

It's early, and there are no guarantees of how impactful Landry will be in his return, so the addition of Key is a significant move by the Titans to strengthen their depth of pass rushers.

Key is also a solid replacement for Bud Dupree, who, unfortunately, was released in a cost-saving move. While Dupree never lived up to the expectations regarding sack totals, the Titans defensive numbers were better when he was on the field.

The question now is, how much can Key improve the Titans defense overall when he's on the field?

Of course, there are still the unknowns of what type of pass rusher the Titans got in new inside linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.

Described as a heat-seeking missile, a downhill player with speed and athleticism, and a violent striker, Al-Shaair will also bring pass-rush ability to this defense.

The possibility of adding even more pass rush help in the remainder of free agency and the upcoming draft remains. Still, as of now, the Titans defensive front seven seems to be progressing nicely.

Not perhaps it's time to find some corner help as well.
