NASHVILLE - On Saturday, a former NFL player reported that the Tennessee Titans would trade Derrick Henry to the Philadelphia Eagles. Shortly after that, former Titan, now Eagles receiver AJ Brown added fuel to the fire with a tweet asking his new team to "make it happen if possible."

Likewise, this writer reported here that according to a league source, the Dallas Cowboys were also interested in attaining Henry's services. This news came on the heels of the Eagles information.

However, it now seems clear that both reports are more rumors.

According to a report late Saturday by Cowboys Country publisher Mike Fisher, who has covered the team for decades, a Cowboys official has denied this occurred.

“Theres nothing there,” a team source tells us as of Saturday afternoon, even as rumors continue to spread that mentions Dallas’ “yet-to-be-determined compensation packages” for the Titans.

Also, on Saturday evening, a report by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk had this to say about the Eagles possible interest in a deal for Henry

"Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it won't be happening," wrote Florio

It should be noted that both reports indicate a trade for Henry is not in the works, though neither mentions nor denies that any talks might have occurred between those teams and the Titans.

Either way, it seems that Titans fans can rest somewhat easily now that it seems Henry will remain with Tennessee, at least until the next rumor spins to the surface.
