NASHVILLE — Recent allegations of hazing surrounding the Northwestern University football program have led to the dismissal of former head coach and university alum Pat Fitzgerald, as well as causing other issues for the school.

Tennessee Titans rookie offensive lineman Peter Skoronski starred for Fitzgerald and the Wildcats for the past four seasons. On Wednesday, following his first training camp practice, the first-round draft selection was asked about the developments in Evanston.

"You know, I'll just say, I had a great college experience," Skoronski said when asked if he endured hazing during his time in the program. " But I'm not going to comment much more on that, I'm just focusing on being a good teammate here as a Titan."

"That's what I tried to focus on doing in college too, so we're just locked in on training camp right now."

As for being surprised by the reports, Skoronski had this to share.

"Yeah, you know, obviously, it was a tough few days there, but I have to lock in on training camp," Skoronski said. "I'm focused on my job here right now."

The Titans rookie did admit that he was surprised when he learned that Fitzgerald had been relieved of his duties as head coach. Fitzgerald is the all-time winningest coach in Northwestern history, and was also a great player there.

"Yeah, I'm definitely surprised by that," Skoronski said.

Skoronski deflected all further questions on the hazing issues.

"Like I said, I'm really just focused on training camp right now. I'm not looking back at certain events of the past few years," Skoronski said.

Skoronski opened training camp where he left off during OTAs as the presumed starter at left guard.
