Titans QB Will Levis to Practice Wednesday According to Mike Vrabel: 'Hope to Get Him Back This Week'

The Tennessee Titans were without their starting quarterback Will Levis in their Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but head coach Mike Vrabel hopeful Levis can return this week against the Houston Texans, while confirming Levis will practice on Wednesday.

The Tennessee Titans went with Ryan Tannehill over an injured Will Levis in a close loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16. Levis did participate in a limited fashion in the Titans' last practice of Week 15 though and based on what head coach Mike Vrabel said on Tuesday, it sounds like there is some hope Levis can play on Sunday.

"Yeah, I think (Levis) will try to practice (Wednesday)," Vrabel said. "Probably in a limited basis, but I think that he is better, he's improved and he's been working hard to get back just like everybody else."

Levis was injured at the end of the Titans' Week 15 loss to the Houston Texans. He seemed to reaggravate an ankle injury he'd been dealing with while being sacked and being rolled backwards. Levis missed the first two practice sessions of Week 16, but made a limited appearance in the final practice, with a heavily-taped right leg as seen in this video from Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com.

Tannehill had some bright moments during his start, including some nice runs, but had more mistakes with late or off-target throws and bad clock management at the end of the game. He was clearly rusty after not playing since Week 6, but it didn't make it hard for Vrabel to look forward to getting Levis back.

While it can be debated what is best to do with Levis, considering his health, in the final two weeks, it is clear Vrabel thinks what is best for his rookie passer is to play. If Levis is able to practice all week, it sounds like he will be out there.

"I think that those are invaluable reps," Vrabel explained. "I would anticipate a great road environment. Playing on the road in a loud environment and being able to handle the operation and work the offense. I know that that's something that is always critical. I want everybody that can play to possibly play."
