NASHVILLE —One interview down, with several more to go for the Tennessee Titans in the search to replace coach Mike Vrabel.

The team announced that Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan held a virtual interview Friday with Titans brass. Callahan's interview was virtual because NFL rules mandate that teams wait until Jan. 22 to do in-person interviews.

Callahan, the son of former NFL head coach Bill Callahan, has a great reputation in the NFL for developing quarterbacks.

Callahan joined the Bengals' coaching staff at the start of the 2019 season. He's credited with helping in the development of quarterback Joe Burrow.

He also served as the quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions for 2016 and 2017, during which he helped Matthew Stafford have one of his best seasons.

The Titans have requested interviews with at least nine coaches: Callahan, the Las Vegas Raiders' Antonio Pierce, the Detroit Lions' Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, the New York Giants' Mike Kafka, the Baltimore Ravens' Mike Macdonald, the Dallas Cowboys' Dan Quinn, the Houston Texans' Bobby Slowik, and the Philadelphia Eagles' Brian Johnson.
