NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans left guard Peter Skoronski validated his status as a  bright spot on the team's maligned offensive line by making Pro Football Focus' All-Rookie Team.

PFF writer Dalton Wasserman praised Skoronski's ability to transition from All-American left tackle at Northwestern to NFL rookie guard.

"Skoronski’s transition to guard certainly had some hiccups, including early-season injuries, but he showed enough in pass protection to be considered a foundational piece for Tennessee's offensive line," Wasserman wrote.

"Among Skoronski’s highlights are two consecutive games, in Weeks 11 and 12, in which he posted an 85-plus PFF pass-blocking grade. He also committed just one penalty all season."

According to PFF, Skoronski allowed 32 quarterback pressures and five sacks. He finished the season with a strong performance in the season-finale victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Skoronski also missed three games following an appendectomy, after which he lost weight and had to work hard to regain strength.

"Ups and downs, for sure. Like you said, I'll be here and I'm going to keep working, try to be the best player I can for this franchise, and we ended up on a high note," Skoronski said. "Plenty to work on and plenty to get better at and that’s what the off-season is for and that’s what I’ll do."

The Titans are searching for a new coach to replace Mike Vrabel. There are several decisions that need to be made during this process. It is uncertain whether Skoronski will return to his previous position as left tackle or if the team will decide that he would perform better as a guard. Titans general manager Ran Carthon has not ruled out either possibility.

"Yes, he came in, he was an All-American left tackle in college, but I think — and we talked about this with Peter the other day — at this league, there are bigger, longer players and the length presents a problem," Carthon said. "Now, moving forward, who knows? We may give Peter a look. Peter's a player that I would never bet against and say that he couldn't do something or he couldn't play. But we thought, at the time when we drafted him, that we could put Peter at guard and he'd be a mainstay."
