NASHVILLE - The opening of the Tennessee Titans 2023 season has arrived as the veterans report to join the rookies on Tuesday for the start of training camp.

While today is a day for players to endure conditioning tests and other such activities, no formal practice will be open to the media. That will come Wednesday when the team takes to the grass at St. Thomas Sports Park, when the real work will begin with temperatures expected to be around 94 degrees for their return to the practice field.

So what's happening on Tuesday, head coach Mike Vrabel will take to the podium inside the team's television studio to address the crowd of cameras and recorders in attendance. He'll likely be asked about a particular new wide receiver addition to his roster and a player who will sit out the first six games of the coming season for violating league rules, and there could be a question or two concerning an offensive lineman or two who worked out for the team last weekend.

Speaking of that new receiver, DeAndre Hopkins will be in attendance and will join the session for the first time as a Titan, where he will endure questions on what made him choose the Titans-hint, he's already said Vrabel was a big part of that decision- and other such things.

No other players are scheduled to speak today, so this will be a short day filled with new things to ask and write about for those of us in the media.

As for Wednesday, and what we know now, general manager Ran Carthon and his assistants Chad Brinker and Anthony Robinson will all appear for questions ahead of the practice, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30 and run till 11 a.m. as the thought is that the early start will allow them to get their work concluded before the hottest part of the Tennessee summer heat and humidity lands on the day.

That's the schedule for days one and two of training camp 2023, and there will be much more to follow as this day, week, and summer continue.

The wait is finally over, and football time has returned to Nashville and the Titans.
