Twitter Talks Levis: Positive and Negative Reactions to the Pick

In this story:
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans set the internet ablaze when they traded up from pick 41 to pick 33 to select former Kentucky quarterback Will Levis. As is expected the response was mixed to the decision. We saw both positive and negative reactions to the move on Twitter.
Twitter user @TristanUda points likes the move and points out how the Titans could be gaining some new fan base from the Wildcat fanbase.
Will Levis to the Titans!

Levis will get to sit behind Ryan Tannehill and get accustomed to the Titan offense and NFL in general.
Also just a short drive to Nashville away for A LOT of Kentucky fans.
I like it. #BBN pic.twitter.com/jRl2CkjOdH
Twitter user @theonlyjbrown61 has officially pledge to defend Levis' honor. That's not weird.
Official announcement: I will now be defending the honour of Will Levis until further notice. I would give my life for Will Levis. He has a cannon arm and he’s not that weird.

Twitter user @albie_chatfield seems optimistic the Titans are getting a good one!
Twitter user @LondonTitan is right. Let's hope Levis shines bright.
Sometimes pressure destroys.

Sometimes it creates diamonds.
I hope for his sake and our @Titans sake that Will Levis is one of life’s diamonds.#Titans #TitanUp #NFLDraft2023 https://t.co/FhYHoB2R9E
Twitter user @jpotrzebowski2 reminds Levis of another second-round pick and wishes good luck.
Head up, @will_levis Drew Brees was selected by the San Diego Chargers with the first pick of the second round of the 2001 NFL draft.

Good luck in your career!
Not every reaction was positive though. There were plenty of folks upset with the pick of Levis. Twitter user @DrVawl does not seem happy that the Titans passed on Tennessee's Hendon Hooker.
Twitter user @WLewington points out the opportunity lost by the Titans to unite the state with Hooker.
There’s a big overlap between Titans and Vols fans, and Hendon Hooker rejuvenated the Vol fanbase while at the same time Will Levis looked very underwhelming from what the average fan saw of him. He’s our guy now so I’ll be rooting for him, but this stings for a number of reasons https://t.co/5RKrEsZ7wX

Twitter user @sawurwife20 doesn't seem to be interested in Levis as the Titans' quarterback.
I’m entering the transfer portal. Whoever takes Hendon Hooker will be my new team call me bandwagon or whatever I don’t care. Over my dead body will I support will Levis

Twitter user @Matt_Wakefield is not watching the Titans anymore.
Absolutely pissed that the @Titans took Will Levis. 19 TD's to 10 interceptions in '22. 24 and 13 in '21. I would have preferred Hooker if selecting QB. Not watching the Titans. They clearly couldn't care less about the fans.

Twitter user @WillCarter13 doesn't think that Levis is going to beat out second-year player Malik Willis.
Can’t wait for Malik Willis to beat out Will Levis.

As you can see, there is a lot of good and bad in here. The reaction was largely negative if we are honest, but there are some folks displaying optimism. Levis clearly will have two challenges as he enters the NFL. He'll have to improve his game for starters, but he will also have to convince the fan base that he is worthy of their support. The Titans spurned their in-state college fans indirectly with the Levis pick, so his mountain will be harder to climb.
