Saints RB Alvin Kamara Will Not Play Tennessee Titans in Week 1 Due to Suspension

In this story:
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans will start their 2023 campaign with a game in New Orleans against the Saints. The Titans just got a major break though as one of the Saints' top players will be missing the contest.
Saints' star running back Alvin Kamara was suspended today for three games and will not appeal the suspension according to multiple reports. Kamara was involved in a fight outside of a Las Vegas nightclub in 2022 and the NFL officially gave out their punishment for Kamara's role in the altercation today.

🏈 Week 2: at Panthers
🏈 Week 3: at Packers
He will be eligible to return in Week 4 against the Buccaneers.
Kamara has 8,888 total yards in his career and 71 total touchdowns. Any time that level of player is not out on the field, the opposing team is gaining an advantage. In his place the Titans should see a ton of third-round rookie Kendre Miller out of Texas Christian.
This will be the third time the Titans will face the Saints during Kamara's career, but for a second time Kamara will not be available to play. The Titans squared off against the Saints in Week 10 of the 2021 season, but Kamara was hurt and didn't play. The Titans won that game in nail-biting fashion, 23-21.
The one time the Titans did face Kamara, he did major damage in a 38-28 Saints' win in Nashville. The game took place in Week 16 of 2019. Kamara went for 80 rushing yards along with 30 receiving yards on six catches. Kamara also scored twice.
Every year is a new year, but the Titans are 1-1 against Kamara's team and the win came without Kamara on the field, so if history is any sign, this has to bode well for the Titans. The Saints still have a competitive roster remaining though, so the Titans are surely in for a fight down in the bayou. At least they will have one less weapon they need to worry about.
