NASHVILLE - When Sean Murphy-Bunting signed a free-agent contract with the Tennessee Titans, the former second-round selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers immediately stepped into a veteran leadership role for a young group of cornerbacks on its roster.

Having spent his first four NFL seasons learning his craft, including playing an essential role for a Super Bowl champion, Murphy-Bunting is excited for the new challenge of a new team.

Following the team's morning workout, he met the Nashville media for the first time on Tuesday. He made a strong impression on those in attendance when speaking about the opportunity with the Titans.

"It's definitely different, you know. I came from a place where we had a lot of young guys as well, so it's different. It's a different outlook on the game," said Murphy-Bunting. "I've been through enough to know what there is out there but at the same time, you have an opportunity to see more and be around a different experience."

"It's a blessing, and I take every day one day at a time and try to get better myself, but at the same time, try to better those around me in any way I can," he continued. "So it's been a blessing in disguise really, and I'm just excited for the opportunity to be around guys like that as well."

As for his strengths as a player, Murphy-Bunting described himself as an "athlete."

"I'm an athlete. I honestly feel like I can play any position in the secondary, I know pretty much every position in the secondary, and that's just how I've always been," he said. "I look at football as just a game. I've never looked at football as just knowing one thing because, at the end of the day, you can be put there in different situations, different positions, and it doesn't really matter how you look at it; at the end of the day you have to do your job, or whatever job the coach need of you, so versatility in anything, in any flexion of the game."

Despite his short time as a Titan, it seemed clear that his addition to this roster was to add a talented defender and a now veteran presence who can lead this group of cornerbacks both on and off the field.
