Clay Ranks Titans O-Line Worst In The NFL

Opinions vary as to how good or bad the Tennessee Titans offensive line might be this season.

NASHVILLE - There is no denying that the offensive line of the Tennessee Titans was one of their biggest problems in 2022. Though the starting unit was considered solid, injuries and a lack of adequate depth behind the starters doomed them.

The Titans offensive line allowed 49.5 sacks for the season and countless other quarterback pressures that led to quarterback Ryan Tannehill's season-ending ankle injury.

While the line has undergone an almost total makeover, as Taylor Lewan, Ben Jones, and Nate Davis were either released or not resigned, only Aaron Brewer, who moves from guard to center, and Nicholas Petite-Frere return at right tackle from a season ago.

Enter Andre Dillard and Daniel Brunskill in free agency, Peter Skoronski, and Jaelyn Duncan through the draft, along with former second-round pick Dillon Radunz as the primary participants in the search to rebuild this unit.

We don't, and won't know how this unit will line up before the beginning of training camp at best, and perhaps that unknown has led to this unit being ranked as the worst in the NFL.

According to ESPN's Mike Clay, the Titans are ranked No. 32 among all offensive lines in the league this preseason.

Of course, these rankings, and others like them, are the opinions of the person writing the rankings and should be taken as such with a grain of salt.

Like anything ranked this time of year, it's impossible to know how good or bad this unit will be until they've had the chance to play together on the field. Before we saw them in-game action, anything is an opinion, no matter how educated it might be.

While things are subject to change if the season began today, I would project the starting unit as Dillard at left tackle, Skoronski at left guard, Brewer at center, Brunskill at right guard, and Petite-Frere at right tackle.

It won't be long before we see how these position battles play out until we find out how good or bad this group will be.
