NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans hosted another summer practice that was open to the media on Wednesday and the biggest discussion point from those in attendance seemed to be the disappointing day for rookie quarterback Will Levis.

Levis is battling for the backup quarterback role right now with Malik Willis, so every practice rep and every snap counts. Levis may have plans of being the Titans' starting quarterback one day, but he has a long way to go. 

Here we see Levis working on target practice and he sails the ball far over the practice equipment. Looking at the rest of the reporting here from A to Z Sports and it doesn't get any better. Poor throws, bad decisions and ball security issues are a deadly trio. That wasn't the only account of Levis's struggles either.

According to Paul Kuharksky, Ryan Tannehill was "miles ahead" of the two young quarterbacks, including Levis of course. This is to be expected for a rookie passer being compared to a long-time veteran like Tannehill though.

As ESPN's Turron Davenport notes here, Levis struggled with his touch throws. Levis has a cannon of an arm, but during the pre-draft process his touch on throws and accuracy came into question. Some of those concerns are bleeding over into summer practice.

Levis also took some time with the media to evaluate his performance on the day.

Levis obviously has a great perspective on the day. While it wasn't his best showing, it is only one day of summer practice in his rookie year. You of course would love to see Levis come out and be at his best right away, but that is simply not the case with rookies most of the time. 

Levis fell in the draft to the second round because teams saw him as a bit more of a project than some of the other passers at the top of the draft. These road bumps are to be expected. Levis will have a chance to come back strong when the Titans practice on Thursday.
