We are now on the sixth day of NFL free agency and while many of the top free agents have come and gone, some major storylines remain unresolved pertaining to the Minnesota Vikings.

We'll have the latest news and rumors as it breaks on Saturday, follow below:

8 p.m. – The Vikings trade for a running back!

The Vikings are sending a 2026 6th-round pick and this year's pick No. 160 to the 49ers for RB Jordan Mason and this year's pick No. 187, according to Adam Schefter.

3:10 p.m. — JuJu Smith-Schuster saying with Chiefs

There have been some indications the Vikings are looking for another receiver to pair alongside Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor as they recently hosted Rondale Moore for a visit. One name can be taken off the board as a potential WR3, and that's JuJu Smith-Schuster, who's returning to the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. There was no indication the Vikings were interesting in adding Smith-Schuster.

12:48 p.m. — More Aaron Rodgers noise

Word has it that Aaron Rodgers wants to play for the Vikings, and he's waiting to hear from them before making a decision on his future, according to a report from The Athletic. Rodgers, who spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets, has offers on the table from the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, but sounds like he'd rather end up in Minnesota. Denver Broncos reporter Benjamin Allbright, however, said the interest in all one-sided. "I'll be more blunt. The Vikings have no interest in Aaron Rodgers despite his interest in them," Allbright posted on X, formerly Twitter, later on Saturday.

12:47 p.m. — Cousins staying with Falcons, for now

Kirk Cousins will remain on the Atlanta Falcons' roster past 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, meaning Cousins will receive a guaranteed $10 million roster bonus. There had been speculation the Falcons could look to trade or release Cousins before that bonus was triggered, however, they appear to be in no rush to move on from the former Vikings quarterback. Cousins could still be traded or released, but Atlanta has no need to rush the situation now, and it seems highly unlikely they'd release Cousins now considering they'd be on the hook for his salary anyway. That appears to rule out any potential reunion with the Vikings as the seach continues for a veteran to pair with J.J. McCarthy.

10:44 a.m. — Mullens thanks Vikings

The Vikings saw a trio of quarterbacks depart in Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones and Nick Mullens. Mullens, who played in five games in 2023 after Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles, signed a two-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but expressed gratitude for time in Minnesota. He said on social media the "culture of Minnesota sports will always be important to me."

"I'm very thankful for my (three) years in Minnesota," Mullens said on X, formerly Twitter. "Coaches, teammates, staff, the fans — the place does it right, and I'm so thankful I got to be a part of it! SKOL always."

9:25 a.m. — Commanders bring back Clelin Ferrell

The Vikings were able to poach defensive tackle Jonathan Allen from the Commanders, but they brought back Clelin Ferrell, who helped fill the void during Allen's injury absence. Minnesota, again, is almost certainly out of the defensive tackle market after bringing in Allen and Javon Hargrave in addition to still having Harrison Phillips on the roster.

8:23 a.m. — Becton terms revealed

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, former Philadelphia Eagles guard Mekhi Becton's deal with the Los Angeles Chargers is two years, $20 million. The Vikings were likely out of the high-profile guard market after signing Will Fries to a massive deal, but Becton was one of the top remaining free agents at the position and landed a deal in Los Angeles.

8 a.m. – What to look out for on Saturday

Two of the major burning questions left for the Vikings are what they will do at quarterback and WR3. While the conventional wisdom is that J.J. McCarthy is to start and the Vikings need merely a backup, the lack of decision from Aaron Rodgers continues to muddy the pond, with the Vikings reportedly kicking the tires on bringing him in. It remains unlikely though, in which case the Vikings will be going for one of the remaining backups still on the market, with names such as Joe Flacco, Carson Wentz, and Jameis Winston still not picked up. There is still uncertainty over the future of another familiar face, Kirk Cousins, whose situation with the Atlanta Falcons is yet to be determined.

We'll also be keeping an eye on the Vikings' WR3 situation. The fanciful dream scenario of signing Cooper Kupp was crushed on Friday when he signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Friday, but it was also likely the Vikings would look to spend less, and hosted former Arizona Cardinals receiver Rondale Moore yesterday.
