Calgary Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman appeared to check linesman Don Henderson Wednesday’s game against the Nashville Predators.
Wideman was returning to the bench when he crossed paths with Henderson, who was skating backwards. Wideman then appeared to extend his arms forward and shove Henderson to the ice.
The game had to be stopped momentarily, but Henderson stayed in the game.
Prior to the collision, Wideman sustained a hit from Predators forward Mikka Salomaki in the defensive zone corner, hitting his head on the boards in the process. He looked shaken up after the check.
After the game, he was asked about the incident:
