Defender Omar Gonzalez gave the U.S. a 4-0 lead over Cuba in their Gold Cup quarterfinal with a goal off a corner kick just before halftime.

Midfielder Michael Bradley sent the ball curling toward the back post from the left corner where he found forward Aron Johannsson, who headed it back across the goalmouth to find Gonzalez. He went to the ground to slip the ball into the goal with his right foot.

The goal was Gonzalez's first international tally and came during a bit of a homecoming for him, with the match taking place in Baltimore and the LA Galaxy defender and MLS All-Star having played collegiately at the University of Maryland.

The U.S. won 6-0, with Clint Dempsey, Gyasi Zardes and Johannsson scored the game's first three goals, respectively, and Dempsey adding a second on a 64th-minute penalty kick and his third on a 78th-minute effort for his first international hat trick.
