For the second-consecutive summer, Manchester United meet longtime rivals Leeds United in preseason.

Dublin’s Croke Park is playing host this time around, and a packed crowd is expected in the Irish capital on Wednesday evening.

Leeds United claimed a rare victory at Old Trafford (their first in the league since 1981) when these two previously locked horns, and they’ve built on their late-season momentum over the summer by making a few notable additions and winning three friendlies on the spin against top-flight opposition.

Michael Carrick is similarly content with United’s work in the offseason and believes his team is continuing to grow ahead of a season that’s bound to prove more challenging for the full-time boss. There’s Champions League soccer to think about, and the Red Devils have met two European giants in their most recent summer outings, beating Atlético Madrid 2–1 before drawing 1–1 with the continent’s dominant force, Paris Saint-Germain.

United supporters around the world have generally been limited to MUTV throughout preseason so far, but those watching from the United Kingdom will also have to option of tuning into Wednesday’s friendly on free-to-air television. ITV1, ITVX and STV are broadcasting the all-Premier League friendly, as are Premier Sports.

Paramount+ and CBS Sports Golazo are the two streaming avenues in the United States, while Claro Sports is providing coverage for those wanting to watch the match from Mexico.

We’re closing in on the start of the 2026–27 season, with both teams having just one more preseason outing at the weekend.

The Red Devils take on an AC Milan team led by former manager Ruben Amorim in Poland on Saturday ahead of their season opener away at the newly-promoted Hull City.

As for Leeds, they’re facing another Bundesliga opponent, Augsburg, before kicking off their Premier League campaign against Nottingham Forest.
