Aces Star Candace Parker Out Indefinitely Following Foot Surgery

Aces star Candace Parker will be out indefinitely after undergoing successful surgery on a fracture in her foot, according to a release from the team early Tuesday morning.

The statement from Las Vegas said that Parker had been playing on a fracture in her foot all season but recently consulted with the team's medical staff and opted to have surgery instead of risking further injury to her ailing foot.

The veteran big has started 18 games for the Aces this season after coming over from the Sky in free agency to join the defending WNBA champions. She has averaged 9.0 points and 3.7 assists per game on 46.5% shooting from the floor.

Parker has played 16 seasons in the WNBA, averaging 16.0 points per game to go along with 8.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists.

The loss of Parker is certainly a hit to the title favorite Aces, who have rolled out to a 21-2 record this season.
