Alabama defeated Clemson 45–40 to claim the 2015 national title on Monday night.

Crimson Tide running back and Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry finished the game with 158 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries.

Derrick Henry opens scoring with long run

Alabama running back Derrick Henry showed again why he won the Heisman Trophy this season, busting a 50–yard touchdown run in the first quarter to open the scoring. 

Hunter Renfrow's two TDs give Clemson early lead

Clemson's early 14–7 lead came from an unlikely source: Hunter Renfrow. The former walk-on wide receiver caught two touchdown passes from Deshaun Watson to give the Tigers a lead. 

Nick Saban fools Clemson with onside kick

After Alabama tied the game at 24, Nick Saban pulled a fast one and surprised Clemson with an onside kick. 

The Tide took the lead on a touchdown just a moment later. 

O.J. Howard helps Tide have big second half

Tight end O.J. Howard, a junior, had two career receiving touchdowns for the Tide entering Tuesday night. He proceeded to double his total, scoring his first touchdown since 2013 and helping the Tide win a title. Howard finished the game with five catches for 208 yards. 

Deshaun Watson's heroics 

Clemson came up short against Alabama, but Deshaun Watson nearly carried the Tigers to a national title. Watson finished the game with 405 passing yards, four touchdowns, 73 rushing yards and a number of impressive highlights. 

Kenyan Drake returns kick for touchdown

Alabama took a double–digit lead in the fourth quarter when Kenyan Draketook a kick 95 yards for a score.
