Cincinnati runs worst fourth down play ever, still wins

Cincinnati and ECU were locked in a close game with AAC championship implications. Rather than punt the ball to the high-powered ECU offense, the Bearcats opted to go for it on fourth down while leading 45-40 with 2:09 left to play. It did not go well.
Cincinnati called a simple option run play, but when quarterback Gunner Kiel felt some pressure, he just threw the ball blindly behind him. ECU recovered the fumble and scored a go-ahead touchdown on the ensuing offensive series. The Pirates couldn't score a two-point conversion, so they clung to a one-point lead

Kiel redeemed himself, though, with a game-winning drive in the final minute. Andrew Gantz kicked a 47-yard field goal for the Bearcats to give them the lead with 15 seconds to play.
Cincinnati ended up holding on for the win and moving into a tie for first place in the conference.
