Pat McAfee Wants Bill Belichick on His Show if He’s Not Coaching

ESPN personality Pat McAfee made one thing very clear on Friday.

If former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick will not be on an NFL sideline next season, McAfee wants him to join his show.

“I will make this promise that if Bill Belichick is gonna do TV, ‘ol Pat McAfee will be in the running to try to get Bill Belichick to join our program,” McAfee said on Friday. “The amount of questions as soon as I see him—that may be the reason he doesn’t want it, but our group of humans’ never ending questions to Bill Belichick, who literally knows everything about the NFL. ... And after what we saw on College GameDay, he’s got moxie too. He’s great on TV. I think we’ll all be incredibly lucky if that’s the case.”

Belichick was believed to be one of the top candidates for the Atlanta Falcons’ head-coaching job, but when Atlanta hired Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris instead, it became increasingly less likely that the former Patriots coach would land a job this cycle.

The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders are the lone coaching openings remaining, but it is believed that both franchises may be interested in hiring a coordinator instead.

Belichick still wants to coach, but if he takes a one-year hiatus to do television, there will certainly be no shortage of suitors. Now we can add Pat McAfee to the list.
