The Los Angeles Angels and Boston Red Sox coaches and a few players had a brief argument on the field ahead of Wednesday's game, per MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger.

Angels pitching coach Barry Enright and Boston first base coach Jose Flores were the two coaches involved, per Bollinger.

Additionally, it appeared that Red Sox manager Alex Cora was sharing passionate words with Angels pitcher Tyler Anderson amid the skirmish.

This series has featured two, one-run games so far, both won by the Angels, with Wednesday setting the stage for the finale. Monday watched the Angels hold on and win, 7-6, as Tuesday's game went to the 10th inning to give Los Angeles their second win in a row.

In terms of other potential tensions that this series has carried, or perhaps another reason why Cora was chatting with Anderson towards the end of the scrum, could be linked to Tuesday's pitching.

Jo Adell was hit by a third inning pitch thrown by Boston's starting pitcher Brayan Bello, but it is unlikely that Adell would be targeted. Later on in the game, Red Sox relievers Garrett Whitlock and Aroldis Chapman had some of their heaters that were certainly up and in, but there is no telling how intentional these were.

Since the managers of both teams fulfilled their media duties prior to the incident, neither will speak publicly until after Wednesday's game.

The Halos are 28-32 on the season, while Boston is 29-34. The Angels came into Fenway Park having lost seven of their past eight contests and seem to be figuring out a lot of things offensively.

The first game of the series on Monday feature three first inning home runs, something that has never been done by an opposing team in Boston's 113-year history at Fenway Park. Adell added another dinger in the sixth inning to bring the total to four over the course of the eventual win.

Wednesday's finale is set to be even more intense than it was already shaping up to be as the Halos will look to sweep the Red Sox before heading back home on Friday.
