After taking a day off Sunday, and no game Monday, Los Angeles Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe is once again out of the starting lineup.

Per the Orange Country Register's Jeff Fletcher, O'Hoppe is battling a stomach bug, but thought it would be best to take off another day to make sure he is 100 percent for his planned return Wednesday.

Veteran catcher Travis d'Arnaud will assume the catching responsibilities once again as the Halos kick off a three-game series against the Texas Rangers in Arlington, TX.

O'Hoppe started off the 2025 campaign with five home runs in the first seven games, but has since cooled off. Since the end of his four-straight-dinger stretch, the young catcher has no RBIs in six contests.

Overall, the 25-year-old has been batting .333/.347/.667 with a 1.014 OPS in 13 games this year. He has the highest slugging percentage and OPS among active catchers and is just one behind the MLB lead of six dingers.

O'Hoppe has previously stated that he wants to catch 150 games in a season, but is learning the value of rest in 2025. After his previous day off last week, he discussed a newfound appreciation.

“This year is different than last year,” said O'Hoppe. “Now I appreciate (days off) a little more, and I am a little more intentful with it, making sure that my body feels good, and getting everything I need to in. It’s a great opportunity to watch (d’Arnaud) and watch Kyle (Hendricks) pitch. And I learn a lot those days, so I look forward to it more than in the past.”

D'Arnaud, who is only three seasons removed from an All-Star honor, will hold it down once again as the Angels' backstop while O'Hoppe ensures that he is ready to return Wednesday.
