The Dodgers designated one recently acquired pitcher for assignment Tuesday and promoted another from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Yoendrys Gomez, who made only three appearances out of the Dodgers' bullpen after he was selected off waivers from the New York Yankees, was designated for assignment. Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic was the first to report the news on Twitter/X on Tuesday.

Right-hander J.P. Feyereisen, who was claimed off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks last week, was promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of Tuesday's game against the Miami Marlins.

Feyereisen, who made 10 appearances out of the Dodgers' bullpen last season, was claimed off waivers Thursday from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

This year, Feyereisen made two appearances for the Diamondbacks before getting designated for assignment on April 27. He tossed two innings, allowed two earned runs and struck out two batters for the Dodgers' National League West rivals.

In seven games at Triple-A Reno, the Diamondbacks' top farm team, Feyereisen was 1-0 with a 0.96 ERA, seven strikeouts and two walks in 9.1 innings.

In his first stint with the Dodgers, Feyereisen recorded an 0-1 mark with an 8.18 ERA in 10 major league games. He signed with the D-backs on March 15.

The Dodgers are in the midst of a road trip through Atlanta, Miami and Phoenix that will see them play 10 games in 10 days. Given the expected toll on their pitching staff — including a planned bullpen game Monday — it's no surprise to see bullpen swaps burning up the transactions wire this week.

Gomez, 25, did little to earn a longer look in his brief time with the Dodgers. He was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on April 25.

In each of his last two appearances, both against the Marlins, he recorded only four outs while allowing six hits and seven runs.

Gomez had a respectable 2.70 ERA in six games (10 innings) with the New York Yankees before he was placed on waivers. In three appearances with the Dodgers, Gomez posted a 14.54 ERA.

Predominantly a starter in the minor leagues, Gomez has made all 15 of his major league appearances as a relief pitcher. He's 1-1 with a 4.88 ERA across 27.2 innings with the Yankees (2023-25) and Dodgers.

The Dodgers could not option Gomez to the minor leagues without designating him for assignment first.

The Dodgers could be making another roster move before Tuesday's game.
