Dodgers Highlights: LA Loses a Wild Game on a Wild Pitch

In this story:
After a 4 hour and 10 minute rain delay, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Washington Nationals 7-to-6 in 11 innings. LA battle back late to tie the game in the ninth inning before eventually losing the game on a walk off wild pitch.
To open the game, David Peralta singled, and Freddie Freeman doubled. Will Smith struck out. Max Muncy had a sac fly. In the second, Kiké Hernàndez walked, but James Outman hit into a double play. The Dodgers did nothing in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth thanks to a fabulous catch by the Nationals’ center fielder Jacob Young.
Bobby Miller allowed a leadoff triple and a run scored. Despite giving up a single and having a wild pitch, Miller looked great in the second inning. He settled down in the third. He was perfect in the fourth. He was changing speeds well. To open the fifth, Miller walked the batter, stole a base, went to the third on Smith’s error, and scored on a single. A runner scored on a sac fly. Miller pitched a perfect sixth inning. In the seventh, Miller allowed a 2-run homer.
On 99 pitches, Miller went 7 innings, allowed 5 runs, struck out 8, and walked 2. He also endured that 4-plus hour delay to the start of his outing.
Bobby Miller is growing up before our eyes. He gets a little emotional on the mound at times, but give me the guy that pitches with an edge every time. He’ll mature. Learning curve is steep for aces. Dodgers have handled him well.

Shelby Miller hurled a perfect eighth.
In the ninth inning, Outman walked, stole second, went to third on a throwing error, and scored on Wong’s single. Peralta walked. The Dodgers left both Outman and Wong.
Brusdar Graterol was hurt by Muncy’s error but could get out of the jam in the ninth.
Amed Rosario walked in the tenth. Hernàndez’s single scored Smith.
Ryan Brasier allowed the tying run but got out of the tenth.
