The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to win their second consecutive series to open the 2026 Major League Baseball season.
After dropping Monday's series opener against the Cleveland Guardians, the Dodgers responded with a 4-1 win on Tuesday thanks to six shutout innings from Shohei Ohtani.
Ohtani will only be hitting on Wednesday, but his Japanese teammate will take the mound looking to pick up where he left off on Opening Day.

Right-handed pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto is taking the mound for the Dodgers coming off a strong performance on Opening Day against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The reigning World Series MVP went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts.

Yamamoto is coming off a 2025 season in which he was one of the best pitchers in baseball, especially through the postseason. He made 30 regular season starts, sporting a 2.49 ERA with 201 strikeouts while finishing third in National League Cy Young voting.
He then made six appearances in the postseason, sporting a 1.45 ERA, pitching two complete games and heroically getting the final eight outs of the World Series on zero days' rest.
Opposite Yamamoto will be Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams, who allowed three runs across five innings against the Seattle Mariners in his season debut last week. He only allowed two hits but walked six in the contest while striking out seven.
Last season, Williams made 31 starts, accruing a 3.06 ERA across 167.2 innings pitched. He's pitched at Dodger Stadium once in his career, allowing five runs in 0.2 innings in a September 2024 start.
