The Dodgers and Bobby Miller held on to beat the Mariners 6-3 and find themselves just two games away from clinching their 10th NL West title in 11 years.

In other news, manager Dave Roberts officially named Miller to the postseason roster and, more importantly, starting rotation on Friday night. Whether it was earned out of necessity, "Ice Ice Bobby" will start one of the first two games of the NLDS.

“I think it’s very realistic where we’re at right now, that he’ll start one of the first two games,” Roberts said on Friday. “I think the strike-throwing, the quality of pitches, we’ve got a really good sample of now. So I think for us, it’s just seeing that level of consistency. Obviously, the stuff is there, the ability to get left and right out, now you sort of layer in his mound presence, being able to limit damage, getting the first hitter out, and all those kinds of things.”

Clayton Kershaw makes his first start in more than a week tonight as he battles a shoulder issue and diminished velocity.

In some of the more shocking news around baseball, following another Angels loss, superstar slugger Shohei Ohtani may have called it quits on his Anaheim career after unexpectedly clearing his locker room from Angel Stadium. The Angels were unable to provide comment on the situation late on Friday night.

Finally, taking a look ahead at free agency, one report has the Dodgers linked to Gold Glove winning third baseman Matt Chapman, who could boost the infield defense and push Max Muncy to second next season, in a hypothetical scenario.
