Cleveland Guardians Announce 2024 Major League Coaching Staff

Craig Albernaz, Kai Correa, Rouglas Odor, Brad Goldberg, and Josh Tubbs have been named to Cleveland's 2024 Major League coaching staff.

When the Cleveland Guardians hired Stephen Vogt as their new manager, additional coaching changes were expected to follow.

Now, Vogt’s first coaching staff as a Major League manager is officially set.

On Monday afternoon, the Guardians announced their 2024 coaching staff.

Here is a breakdown of Cleveland’s new coaches.

Craig Albernaz, Bench Coach

After initially being hired as the Guardians’ Major League Field Coordinator, Craig Albernaz has been named Cleveland’s bench coach.

He was most recently the San Francisco Giants’ bullpen coach for the past four seasons.

Kai Correa, Major League Field Coordinator

After reportedly having an unspecified coaching role with the Guardians this past weekend, Kai Correa has been named Cleveland’s Major League Field Coordinator.

The 35-year-old was most recently San Francisco’s bench coach for the past four seasons.

Rouglas Odor, Infield Coach

Rouglas Odor has spent 33 seasons in the Guardians’ organization as a Minor League player and player development system coach and manager.

He was most recently the manager of the Double-A Akron RubberDucks for their past four seasons, becoming their all-time winningest manager and winning the 2021 Double-A Northeast Championship.

Per The Athletic's Zack Meisel, Odor will also serve as the Guardians' third base coach.

Brad Goldberg, Bullpen Coach

Brad Goldberg has spent two seasons in Cleveland’s organization as a pitching coach in the Guardians’ player development system.

He was most recently Double-A Akron’s pitching coach this past season, guiding RubberDucks pitchers to the Eastern League’s second-lowest ERA (3.87).

Josh Tubbs, Major League Hitting Analyst

Josh Tubbs has spent six seasons in the Guardians’ organization.

He was most recently Cleveland’s hitting resource coordinator based out of Goodyear, Arizona for the past two seasons.

Many coaches will return next season, including first base/catching coach Sandy Alomar Jr., pitching coach Carl Willis, and hitting coach Chris Valaika.
