Steven Kwan, have a night!

The second-year left fielder for the Cleveland Guardians led the way on Saturday night as they grabbed their first win of 2023 with a commanding 9-4 victory.

Kwan was one of the best rookies in 2022 and finished third in AL ROY voting. He was beaten out by Julio Rodriguez who won the award and was in the opposite dugout on Saturday night.

There's always a little bit of worry from fans that rookies will regress and have a sophomore slump in their second season. That doesn't look like it's going to be the case for Kwan.

The second-year left fielder went off in the Guardians' second game of the season! He finished the night with 2 hits and five RBI which led to the win.

The first RBI came in the second inning as a sacrifice fly. Then, Kwan's first hit of the season couldn't have been more of a Kwan-type hit. He served a Robbie Ray pitch, that was nowhere near the zone, right over the third base line allowing Andres Gimenez and Myles Straw to score. Kwan's next at-bat ended in an RBI double which put the Guardians up 7-4 at the time.

This tied Kwan's career-five RBI in a single game and it was only the fifth inning when it happened.

The only other Cleveland player to have a five-RBI performance within the first two games of the season was Larry Doby who went 2-for-5 on April 16, 1953, against the Detroit Tigers. Yeah, Steven Kwan is just that good.

Watching the Guardians struggle so much from the plate in the season opener was disappointing and struggling to watch. But this performance from Kwan shows that this is still the same Guardians team that was good enough to win the division in
