The New York Mets enter Tuesday’s game seeking their first win of the 2024 season against a Detroit Tigers team that has not lost a game yet this season.

The Mets (0-4) got their manager, Carlos Mendoza, back after a one-game suspension related to the three-game suspension levied against Mets reliever Yohan Ramirez, who was ejected in the seventh inning of Saturday’s game after he threw behind Brewers designated hitter Rhys Hoskins.

Getting Mendoza back did not help, at least offensively.

The Mets were unable to score in a 5-0 loss to the Tigers. The Mets had just five hits, and Starling Marte was the only New York batter to collect more than one hit.

But starter Sean Manaea kept the Mets in the game in his first start with the franchise. He pitched six innings, giving up one hits, two walks and struck out eight. It was the bullpen that did the Mets in, as reliever Michael Tonkin gave up all five Tigers runs in the top of the ninth.

Here is the preview for the game, with probable pitchers, starting lineups, how to watch and listen, injury updates and more.
