Joel Embiid
Despite only appearing in two games since the previous return of votes, due to inflammation/swelling in his left knee, Embiid sits among the top candidates for the Eastern Conference's Front Court.
The most recent return sees Embiid have 3,721,002 votes to his name, which has him sitting right under the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo, something that has been a constant in the previous two returns.
Embiid has made it a mission to keep his name in the MVP conversation, averaging a league-high 35 points per game, while also ranking highly in several other categories.
His most recent game came against the Western Conference's second-highest vote recipient and two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, with the Cameroonian superstar dropping 41 points against the Nuggets.
Tyrese Maxey
Similar to Embiid, Maxey's spot hasn't changed in the guard's category, sitting fifth with 1,094,491 votes, under the likes of Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard, Trae Young, and the recently sidelined Tyrese Haliburton.
Right on Maxey's tail sits Jalen Brunson, who has been a catalyst for the New York Knicks offensive engine this season, amassing 1,058,273 votes so far.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding Maxey this season has surrounded his chase for a spot on the All-Star team which is reflected in his stats, averaging a career-high 26 points on 45 percent shooting, along with seven assists per game.
Voting for the 2023-24 NBA All-Star game closes on January 20 at 11:59 p.m. EST, with the All-Star starters being named on January 25, and reserves following subsequently on February 1.
