Mavs Forward Copies Nic Batum's Viral Tweet Following Latest 70-Point Game

In this story:
Earlier this week, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid made history as the ninth player ever to score 70 or more points in a game. Following the outing, Nic Batum jokingly made a social media post to congratulate his star teammate. He cited they combined for 75 points against the San Antonio Spurs, but he only contributed five.
75 points right there 💪🏽. Congrats brother that was special to witness it pic.twitter.com/cCQbdea9wr

Just a few days later, another player managed to pull off a similar historic feat. Dallas Mavericks All-Star Luka Doncic erupted for 73 points in a win over the Atlanta Hawks. This outing is now tied for the fourth-highest single-game total in NBA history.
Luka Dončić (73 points) has tied for the fourth-most points in a game in NBA history:

Similar to when Embiid scored 70, all the Mavericks' players began documenting the achievement. Veteran forward Grant Williams posted a photo of him and Doncic and social media with almost the exact same caption as Batum.

Williams managed to have a slightly better outing than Batum, tallying nine points on 3-fot-6 shooting from the field. As a former Boston Celtic, the sharpshooting forward is a player the Sixers know all too well.
Along with being two of the key names mentioned in the MVP race, Embiid and Doncic have been among the top offensive stars in the league. Currently, they are the top two scoring leaders. Embiid sits in first place at 36.0 PPG, but Doncic is not far behind at 34.6 PPG.
With these dominant outings, the two superstars have joined the history books together. This is the first time there has ever been two 70+ point performances within a week of one another.
This is the 1st time in NBA history that there’s been 2 70+ performances within a week (previous: 13 days apart, Wilt Chamberlain had both, Nov. 3 and 16, 1962)

As for Embiid and the Sixers, they'll be back in action Saturday evening hoping to bounce back from a loss to the Indiana Pacers. Next up on the schedule is a rematch with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
