Turner spent the first 10 years of his career with the Indiana Pacers and will now start a new chapter in his career in Milwaukee. The 29-year-old big man will head to a team that he's quite familiar with.
The Texas native will have a player option in the fourth year, 2028-29, and a full 15 percent trade kicker. This move came right before the Bucks decided to waive their All-Star guard, Damian Lillard. It was a move that no one saw coming but one they needed to execute if they wanted to acquire the likes of Turner.
The versatile big man is coming off a strong campaign with the Pacers, playing a key role in guiding the franchise to its first NBA Finals appearance in 25 years. Turner posted averages of 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and a career-best 39.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Turner continues to showcase his rare blend of rim protection and floor spacing. He’s one of just three players in league history to record at least 700 made three-pointers and 1,400 blocks — joining Brook Lopez and Rasheed Wallace in that elite group.
The Bucks needed to add reinforcement after the loss of Lopez, and they did so in a big way, adding a younger version of that with Turner.
