The Milwaukee Bucks beat the trade deadline by snagging the player they wanted the most.

Will playmaking be an issue?

Milwaukee acquired defensive-minded Jae Crowder in a three-team deal involving the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns but, in the process, shortened its point guard rotation as the deal saw the departure of George Hill from the Bucks.

Now, the Bucks are left with only Jrue Holiday and Jevon Carter as point guards, and they may have to look elsewhere to bring in a quality backup playmaker.

One of the point guards that the Bucks could pursue is Patrick Beverley, who was traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Orlando Magic for Mo Bamba.

Shams Charania of The Athletic has reported that Beverley and the Magic are working through a contract buyout that would pave the way for the feisty point guard to play elsewhere.

Approved by Giannis

The likelihood of Beverley joining the Bucks is not far-fetched as it was reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo has previously shown interest in the 6-foot-2 guard.

A report by the Behind The Bucks site cited an instance in which Beverley supposedly recalled how Antetokounmpo tried to recruit him to join the Bucks during a pre-game chat.

In one of the episodes of The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone, Beverley claimed that Antetokounmpo told him: “I like you, Pat. You want to win a championship? I like you. You come to Milwaukee Pat. I like you.”

Due to his defensive intensity, Beverley would be a seamless fit with the Bucks. In the 45 games that he played with the Lakers this season, the 11-year veteran averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Beverley is not known for being a heavy scorer, but his feistiness, especially on the defensive end, makes him an enticing commodity for the Bucks.
