Donovan Mitchell, Isaac Okoro Final Injury Status For Cavs-Suns

Donovan Mitchell will be available but Isaac Okoro will be out as the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Phoenix Suns.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were undermanned without Donovan Mitchell and Isaac Okoro on Tuesday night as they took on the Utah Jazz. The Wine and Gold ended up not needing their services as they were able to complete a commanding 129-113 victory.

However, they’ll need all the help they can get against the Phoenix Suns. Here is each player’s status leading up to the game.

Donovan Mitchell - AVAILABLE

Mitchell’s absence won’t be a long one as he’s set to return for the Cavaliers on Wednesday night as they take on the Suns.

Mitchell has officially been listed as AVAILABLE, per NBA’s Injury Report.

The reason that the All-Star shooting guard was out against the Jazz goes back to the knee injury that caused Mitchell to miss the majority of March. The Cavs are being cautious with the bone bruise and are managing his minutes when they can.

With the Cavs playing a back-to-back on Tuesday and Wednesday, head coach J.B. Bickerstaff felt that it was best to rest Mitchell.

The Suns are currently the eighth seed in the Western Conference and have won five of their last six games. Cleveland is going to need Mitchell against this future playoff team.

Isaac Okoro - OUT

Okoro has been one of Cleveland’s most reliable players in a season full of injuries. But now the swingman is taking his turn on the injured list as he’s dealing with a toe injury.

Okoro has been officially listed as OUT against the Suns.

Caris LeVert and Marcus Morris will likely see an expanded role with the Cavs down their best defender.
