J.B. Bickerstaff Talks About The Cavaliers' Third Quarter Struggles Against The Celtics

J.B. Bickerstaff talks about what happened to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the third quarter against the Boston Celtics.

The first half between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics was a joy to watch!

Each team was playing hard defense but still finding a way to score on offense. The star power of both Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum was going back and forth with one another putting on a spectacular show. Pretty much exactly what you want to see from an NBA game.

However, I can't say the same for the third quarter. After only trailing by three points heading into halftime, the Cavs were absolutely run off the court in the third quarter. They were outscored 41-26 in the third and found themselves with a deep deficit heading into the fourth.

This is what head coach J.B. Bickerstaff had to say following the game.

"It's funny what this league comes down to, but we had similar looks on both ends. We had a couple of corner threes that didn't go in and fall for us, they had a couple that did and I thought the tide kind of turned at that point. Again, they're a really good basketball team, and credit to our guys for continuing to fight and coming back."

The Celtics were in fact knocking down all of the shots they took in the third. They were 6-for-7 from three and 14-for-23 from the field. But this is where the Cavs need to recognize they were hitting these shots and make the adjustment to deny them the opportunity.

Cleveland on the other hand went 1-for-8 from three in that quarter.

The Cavs need to figure out a way to prevent opposing teams from going on these large runs or they going to find themselves dropping in the Eastern Conference standings.
