In this story:

It's not uncommon for teams to deal with injury to injury through a season, but it's when that injury starts to affect the player on the court that it may be time to worry. Are we at that worrying stage with Donovan Mitchell and his groin injury?

Mitchell has not looked like himself since he left that game against the Pelicans in the middle of January. Following the initial injury, the Cavs guard missed the next three games in which Cleveland went 1-2.

In the first five games he returned from the injury, Mitchell is averaging just 13.6 points while shooting 35 percent from the floor. Against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night, Mitchell went for 19 points which looks pretty good on paper, but the efficiency wasn't quite there. He was on 8-for-13 from the floor and 2-for-10 from behind the arc.

Something is clearly off.

Donovan Mitchell is known for his explosiveness off the dribble and tremendous outside shooting and all of that seems to be gone right now. There have been multiple occasions where he's been driving but has elected to kick it out to a teammate or ignore driving altogether and settle for a contested shot.

It's hard to say that these decisions aren't because of the nagging groin injury.

But is it time for Cavs fans to start worrying about this injury as the team heads into the final stretch of the season? I don't think it's time for major concern just yet.

We're at the point of the NBA season where every player is dealing with something whether that be an injury such as Mitchell's or just overall fatigue. If Mithcell can coast into the All-Star break and then get a few days off, even if he does decide to play in the game, then this rest could do wonders for the final month of the season.

However, if this sort of production and tendencies continue after the All-Star break then the Cavs could have a serious issue on hand.
