Cavaliers Record 14th 30-Assist Game In Win Over Raptors

In this story:
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors by a score of 119-95 on Saturday night.
This gave Wine and Gold a nine-game winning streak, which is tied for the NBA's longest so far this season. The team is also 17-1 in its last 18 games.
Cleveland earned its latest victory in large part because of its ability to effectively share the ball.
As a team, the Cavaliers recorded 36 assists against the Raptors, which are tied for their second-most in a game this season. This was the Wine and Gold’s 14th 30-assist game this season, and they are 12-2 in such games.
Five Cleveland players tallied at least four assists. Darius Garland led the way with eight, Max Strus tied his season-high with seven, and Donovan Mitchell, Caris LeVert, and Isaac Okoro recorded six, five, and four assists, respectively.
The Cavaliers took advantage of good passing early on in the contest. 10 of their 13 field goals in the first quarter were assisted, as the team shot 13-for-22 (59.1%) from the field.
The Wine and Gold ultimately assisted on 36 of their 48 field goals against Toronto.
After the game, Cleveland Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff addressed what has been working well for the team on offense lately.
“We just passed the ball to the open man. As simple as that sounds, that’s what this game is all about. And I think sometimes, people get bored with the simple things. But through this stretch, I think you guys have continued to see we don’t make it complicated. What’s complicated is the decisions defenses have to make to stop the guy that’s in front of them. And then that guy makes the right play and throws the ball to the open man, and everybody’s doing it. Everybody’s making the one-mores.”
