As the Boston Celtics continue their game with the Philadelphia 76ers, they may have to do so without the services of guard Derrick White. White seemed to suffer an apparent injury and headed back to the locker room.

The hope is that this injury isn't too serious and White will be able to return soon. Boston is already without multiple pieces in this game so losing White could seriously hurt their chances.

Some speculated that White may have chipped another tooth, forcing him to leave the game. But we should know more about the injury soon.

White just dropped 41 points in the Celtics' previous game, helping the team take down the Portland Trail Blazers. Before he left the contest with the 76ers, White had scored 10 points for Boston.

More Celtics: Celtics' Joe Mazzulla Reacts to Historic Performances From Derrick White, Payton Pritchard

Head coach Joe Mazzulla weighed in on the performance from White and guard Payton Pritchard against Portland.

“They were tremendous,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla told reporters. “I think with guys out and playing against a really good Portland team, we knew we were gonna need to have guys step up. And the way those two played just shows a lot about who they are. They do a lot of the dirty stuff when we’re fully healthy. They do a lot of the things for the team. And to have a night like this where those two can show what they’re capable of, was big for us. We’re lucky to have him, and it was a lot of fun to watch him do that.”

White is one of the more crucial players to the Celtics as he gives them legitimate production on both ends of the floor. His ability to change a game as a role player for this group helps Boston succeed and the Celtics need him healthy to repeat as NBA champions.
