In this story:

The Charlotte Hornets (40-36) are currently 8th in the Eastern Conference Standings and will square off with the Phoenix Suns (42-34, 7th in the West) at 7 pm EST.

The injury reports look mostly clean on both sides, and this should be a good test for the Hornets against an equally strong team, heading into the final week of the regular season.

The first five for the Hornets

G LaMelo Ball - Over his last three games, LaMelo is shooting 31.6% from the field and 27.5% from three. It's his least efficient three-game stretch since the middle of February. Back then, he followed it up with a 37-point performance against the Wizards.

G Kon Knueppel - In a similar vein to LaMelo, Knueppel has struggled over the past three games. 30.8% from the field and 21.1% from deep make up the most inefficient three-game stretch in his young NBA career.

G Brandon Miller - Miller is continuing his 2026 hot stretch. In Tuesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, he was the top scorer with 29 points on good efficiency and a perfect seven of seven from the free-throw line.

F Miles Bridges - This will be an interesting game for Bridges. He has been mentioned as a preferred trade target by the Phoenix Suns consistently over the last few years.

C Moussa Diabaté - Diabaté didn't reach his usual rebounding heights in the first game against Phoenix a month ago. He grabbed just four rebounds, his lowest tally when starting this season.

The first five for the Suns

G Devin Booker - This will be the third game for Phoenix on a four-game road trip. In the first two contests against the Grizzlies and Magic, Booker scored 36 and 34 points respectively.

G Collin Gillespie - Gillespie probably won't win the MIP award this season, but he would certainly be worthy of it. He jumped from 5.9 to 13.1 points per game and burned the Hornets with 24 of them earlier this season.

G Jalen Green - Acquired from the Rockets per trade over the summer, Jalen Green hasn't been available as much as the Suns probably hoped. This will only be his 29th game of the year.

F Dillon Brooks - Say what you will about Dillon Brooks and his antics, but his teams continue to succeed. Whether it was for the Grizzlies, Rockets, or now Suns, Brooks consistently gives the teams he is on a certain edge.

C Oso Ighodaro - Former Charlotte Hornet Mark Williams is making his return tonight, but he's coming fresh off an injury and riding the bench. In his place, former Marquette standout Oso Ighodaro will crash the boards to start.
