The Los Angeles Lakers are looked at as one of the teams that can contend for the NBA title this season. The midseason addition of Luka Doncic has made them a much more dangerous team on the offensive end of the court.

Los Angeles is still trying to solidify the seed they will have in the playoffs. Right now, they are tied with the Denver Nuggets for third in the Western Conference standings.

As they try to finish the season with as high of a seed as possible, the Lakers are also trying to stay as healthy as possible. That is the biggest issue facing them as the regular season winds down.

The Lakers are taking on another team that sees themselves as a title contender. On Thursday night, they will take on the Golden State Warriors, who are fifth in the Western Conference standings.

Ahead of this game against Stephen Curry and the Warriors, James is listed as probable due to a left groin strain. He will suit up for this game.

James and the rest of the Lakers are trying to secure home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs. They have a two-game lead over the Warriors for home-court.

Los Angeles is trying to play some more consistent basketball as the season winds down. They have been very up-and-down over the last month.

That's part of the reason why they want their guys playing at the end of the year if they can. They want to build some momentum.

Since the Lakers traded for Doncic, their offense has had moments where it has looked unstoppable. There have also been times when their defense looks extremely vulnerable.
