Kevin Durant Blasts Montrezl Harrell Following Nic Claxton Comments

There was some back and forth dialogue between Brooklyn Nets center Nicolas Claxton and Philadelphia 76ers center Montrezl Harrell leading up to their game against one another. After Harrell threw some shade at Claxton's relevance, Claxton fired back with similar remarks for Harrell. On a recent podcast episode, Durant weighed in on Harrell's comments.

"Montrezl? Come on, Montrezl. He was talking crazy," Durant said. "Like Montrezl is not like that. Like you’re an enforcer as a basketball player, but you’re not that guy like come on, man. Clax is having a good year bro. Come on now. Don’t do that… there was a little shade in that. There was a little shade in that… Like, of course Kyrie’s the head of the snake. Just like Joel Embiid is the head of the snake, but we’re not gonna forget about Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey and you, and James [Harden], but come on bro. Give somebody some credit fam. It ain’t that hard."

Never hesitant to defend his teammates, Durant made sure to remind Harrell that he is "not like that" when it comes to his stature in the NBA. A much more impactful player than Harrell, Claxton also rightfully fired back at Philly's backup big man. The rivalry between Philly and Brooklyn is underrated, especially when both teams are at full strength. It would certainly be a fun playoff series if the two teams were to meet.
