Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, as he is unhappy with the contract extension they offered him. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania  the Nets placed stipulations on Irving's extension offer that were not well received.

"The Nets recently offered Irving an extension with guarantee stipulations, according to league sources, an offer which was declined," Charania wrote. "Sources with direct knowledge of the negotiations who have been granted anonymity so that they could speak freely say that the extension offer was not well received and that there have been principle differences that have emerged between the Nets and Irving."

It is clear that Irving wants out, but who wants to trade for him? According to Dan Woike of the LA Times, the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Miami Heat are buzzing around league circles, with some also speculating about the Phoenix Suns.

The Lakers have of course been linked to Irving the most, but teams like Dallas, Miami, and Phoenix could all use the extra star power to help them get over the hump. Brooklyn has a decision to make on the future of their star point guard, as they could potentially lose him for nothing this summer. Needless to say, it will be a hectic week leading up to the trade deadline.
