Former Nuggets Player Slams NBA Top-75 for Leaving off Dwight Howard

When the NBA Top-75 list came out, one of the most glaring omissions was Dwight Howard. An eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA team member, five-time All-Defensive team member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Howard deserved to make the 75th anniversary team.

Recently appearing on The Knuckleheads Podcast, Jameer Nelson slammed Howard's omission from the NBA's Top-75 team, saying, "He's definitely top-75. You can take any one of those dudes out of it. However you wanna say it, I don't get into the whole rankings thing, but he's for sure top-75. It's crazy... I don't know why he's not, but it's crazy that he's not.

Nelson played with Howard on the Orlando Magic before spending time with the Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, and Boston Celtics. Going to the Finals with Howard in 2009, Nelson saw how dominant the Magic big man was, leading that team every single night on the game's biggest stage. One of the best defenders and rebounds of all-time, Howard was also a force offensively, with four seasons over 20 PPG to go along with his dominant defense.

While Nelson didn't get into rankings and who specifically should have been left off in favor of Howard, the former Nuggets and Magic guard made it clear that Howard belonged on the NBA's top-75 list.
