Detroit Pistons Injury Report Following Cade Cunningham Update

In this story:
Following a 127-116 win over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night, the Detroit Pistons look to complete the regular-season sweep of the Minnesota Timberwolves with a victory. The Pistons enter Thursday night’s matchup against the Timberwolves with a 55-21 overall record and are four games ahead of the Boston Celtics for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The way things stand right now, two wins or two Celtics losses are all that separate the Pistons from securing the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons are set to face their ninth consecutive game without Cade Cunningham, since his collapsed lung diagnosis.
On Thursday afternoon, the Pistons announced that Cunningham will be re-evaluated in one week. Cunningham, however, has continued to progress in his return-to-play process, as he last played in the Pistons' 130-117 road win over the Washington Wizards on March 17, in which he left in the first half with back spasms.
As the Pistons look to improve to 7-2 since Cunningham’s absence, here’s a look at the injury report for both teams ahead of Thursday night’s matchup.
Pistons Availability Report

In addition to Cunningham being out for the Pistons, Isaiah Stewart also remains sidelined with his calf injury. Stewart, who hasn’t played since the Pistons 126-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on March 13, recently resumed basketball activities for Detroit, as fans await his return to the court, which has yet to be determined.
Marcus Sasser (hip) is also a game-time decision for the Pistons. In his third season with the Pistons, the former Houston Cougars star has stepped up for Detroit amid their injuries. In the Pistons' 114-110 overtime road loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, Sasser scored 12 points, four assists, and one rebound for a shorthanded Detroit squad.
Timberwolves Availability Report

When the Pistons and Timberwolves met in Minneapolis last Saturday, Minnesota star Anthony Edwards did not play. Despite returning to the Timberwolves lineup in Minnesota’s 124-94 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night, Edwards (knee) is questionable for the matchup against the Pistons.
Jaden McDaniels remains out against the Pistons due to a knee injury. McDaniels last played in the Timberwolves 110-108 overtime win over the Houston Rockets on March 25. Timberwolves center Rocco Zikarsky (undisclosed) is a game-time decision against the Pistons.
What To Watch For In Pistons Matchup Against Timberwolves

While the Pistons are one step closer to clinching the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Timberwolves are aiming for better playoff positioning, and a win over Detroit can help that effort.
The Timberwolves are currently the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference with a 46-29 overall record, and are a half-game back of the Houston Rockets for the No. 5 seed.
The tip-off between the Pistons and Timberwolves is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena with the game broadcast on Prime Video.
