On Friday night, the Detroit Pistons and the Memphis Grizzlies will battle it out for the second time this week. Once again, both teams have a crowded injury report.

On Memphis’s side, one of the key names that stands out is the veteran sharpshooter, Desmond Bane.

Lately, Bane has been dealing with a back injury. According to the Grizzlies’ injury report, the setback is described as a lumbar disc bulge. With Bane out once again, he’s set to miss his fourth-straight outing.

Bane’s recent stretch of absences started last week when the Pistons took on the Orlando Magic. On Monday, when the Grizzlies paid a visit to the Pistons, Bane missed his second-straight outing. The trend continued on Wednesday in Milwaukee.

This season, Bane appeared in 42 games for the Memphis Grizzlies. Spending an average of nearly 35 minutes on the court, Bane averaged 24 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field and 38 percent of his threes on nine attempts per game.

In recent seasons, the Grizzlies’ final stretch of games had an impact on their playoff chances. This time around, that’s not the case. With the Grizzlies going through long stretches missing standout players such as Ja Morant and Bane, Memphis struggled to find consistency.

Heading into Friday’s game, the Grizzlies hold a 26-50 record. While they’ve won just three of their last ten games, Memphis is currently on a two-game win streak in the absence of Bane. When the Pistons and the Grizzlies competed against each other earlier this week, the Pistons came up short with a 110-108 loss.

On Friday, Detroit hopes to get revenge on the road. The two teams will tip-off at 8 PM ET.
