Experts Make Betting Picks for Suns-Pelicans

The Phoenix Suns are on the road for a two-game series against the New Orleans Pelicans. Here's some bets to take via experts across the web.

The Phoenix Suns look to rebound in major fashion on Friday when the New Orleans Pelicans play host to them.

Having lost back-to-back games, the Suns aim to get back on track against the West's top team in New Orleans.

Having already defeated them once earlier in the year, the Suns will play New Orleans on Friday and Sunday.

As for tonight, here's what some betting experts across the web believe are good wagers:

Bets to Take for Suns-Pelicans

Covers.com Says Bet Zion

"Deandre Ayton might have the best shot at guarding Williamson, but that becomes tricker when he shifts into “Point Zion” mode (he led New Orleans with five assists against the Pistons). Dragging Ayton away from the paint leaves Phoenix with limited rim protection," said Tom Oldfield.

"Though the visitors boast one of the league’s very best transition defenses, New Orleans will get opportunities if it pushes the pace. Both teams are in the Top 10 in points per game and, regardless of the result, I expect Williamson to continue his dominant play and stuff the stat sheet tonight.

"My best bet: Zion Williamson +33.5 Points + Rebounds (-115)"

  • Action Network Says Take Ayton or Bridges for First Basket

"The Suns were above average at scoring first last season, but have struggled this season, scoring first in only 44% of their games. Much of that was due to their inefficiency when Cameron Payne was starting for the injured Chris Paul. With Paul back in the starting lineup for the Suns, they have scored first 73% of the time this season. The Pelicans, conversely, have scored first in 63% of their games this season.

"There is a high probability that either Ayton or Mikal Bridges will take the first shot for Phoenix, as one of the pair have taken the first shot in 48% of Suns games this season. Devin Booker took and made first shot in the Suns’ game against Pelicans earlier this season.

"I’ll take Ayton first basket prop (+430) and risk 0.6 units on Caesars and I’m also grabbing Bridges (+750) first scorer at 0.4 units on FanDuel. Both players have performed well against the Pels over the past two seasons and I expect the same success tonight.

    "The Picks: Ayton +430 (0.6u, play down to +325) | Bridges (+750 0.4u, play down to +600)"
