Anthony Davis Won't Play vs. Suns

When the Los Angeles Lakers travel to Phoenix to battle the Suns, they'll be without the talents of Anthony Davis.

The Phoenix Suns are now on a two-game winning streak after defeating the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. The rest of their three-game homestand will see them first host the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.

Previously defeating the Lakers 115-105 on Nov. 22, Phoenix hopes to extend their series lead to 2-0 this year.

The Suns might just have the upper hand in the matchup after Lakers big man Anthony Davis was ruled out for at least a month after injuring his right foot.

The Suns felt his impact in their previous matchup as Davis notched 37 points, 21 rebounds, five steals and five blocks in Phoenix. LeBron James did not play due to injury.

"An extended absence for Davis could have a devastating impact on the Lakers' postseason chances. Davis is averaging 27.4 points on a career-best 59.3% shooting, 12.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game," wrote ESPN

The Lakers enter Sunday's matchup with Washington having won just two of their last six games.

Phoenix currently has the day off and hopes to regain the likes of Deandre Ayton and Cam Payne from injury.

After Monday, the two foes won't meet again until Mar. 22. The Suns swept the season series last year 4-0.
