Diamondbacks to Honor Mikal Bridges Later in Season

After a failed twitter bet, Suns forward Mikal Bridges will have his own appreciation day by the D-backs later this year.

Phoenix Suns forward Mikal Bridges has always been a winner.

Bridges won two national championships during his college days at Villanova before entering the NBA. With the Suns, he's advanced all the way to the NBA Finals and helped the franchise set numerous records in last year's regular season.

NBA All-Defensive First Team honors capped off a strong season for a player many thought deserved the league's Defensive Player of the Year award after participating in all 82 games.

Although the season is over, Bridges can now chalk Twitter bets with professional baseball teams in his personal win column.

The Arizona Diamondbacks visited Bridges' hometown Philadelphia Phillies for a weekend series, and the D-backs social team had some fun with Bridges after his continuous supportive tweets for Philly.

Despite winning Sunday's contest 13-1, Arizona ultimately lost the series to Philadelphia after losing on Friday and Saturday.

Now, the Diamondbacks will be forced to host "Mikal Bridges Appreciation Day" when the Phillies return to town in August.

Knowing Bridges, he still may opt to show up to a game in a full D-backs uniform when the time comes, although he very well may flip the script and rock some Phillies gear.
