2023 Free Agent Tracker: Oklahoma City Thunder

A look at who on the Oklahoma City Thunder is, or might be, hitting the free agent market tomorrow.

The off-season is in full swing in the National Basketball Association. ‘Tis the season when all 30 franchises strategize for the future, tinker with their rosters, and make important personnel decisions.

With teams already having added talent via the 2023 NBA Draft last Thursday, it’s time to look ahead to free agency, which will kick off tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. CST.

For the Oklahoma City Thunder, at least two of their own players are expected to hit the open market but more could join depending on how the front office wants to handle any non-guaranteed deals or club options sitting on their books.

Here’s an overview of what players will, or might, hit the free agent market tomorrow:

Dario Saric, Sacramento Kings

Dario Saric, Unrestricted Free Agent

A swap at the trade deadline that sent Darius Bazley away to the Phoenix Suns netted the now 29-year-old Saric. The Croatian forward would go on to help the Thunder in a bench role for the rest of the season, averaging 7.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in just 13.7 minutes per game on a remarkable 65% true shooting.

Jared Butler

Jared Butler, Restricted Free Agent

After being waived by the Jazz last summer, Butler found himself sitting on the free agent market for a while until the Thunder scooped him up and placed him on a two-way contract in early March. While the 22-year-old guard didn’t receive a bunch of playing time, he did show promise in limited minutes with the Thunder and in an expanded role with the Oklahoma City Blue.

Lindy Waters, Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers

Lindy Waters, Club Option

Waters saw his two-contract converted to a standard contract towards the end of the season after his 3-point shooting helped space the floor for the Thunder who had struggles with efficiency from beyond the arc. Through 41 games, the 25-year-old specialist converted 35.8% of his 14.5 3-pointers per 100 possessions en route to averaging 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.7 assists in 13 minutes per game.
